...Earth Angel...

Earth angel, earth angel
Will you be mine...

Well, the election is officially over without any long, drawn out ordeals. Obama and the Democrats have rightful triumphed in the face of the unquestionably apathetic and contradictory performance of Republicans since the "revolution" in the early 1990s. While I strongly disagree with many of Obamas proposals, I do give him credit for the well-run campaign, though the current economic and social issues greatly aided him. Simply put, Americans are tired of the failed promises of the Republican party that has grown government and spending among countless other things. Of course, dear reader, lest you fear I have wholeheartedly consumed the NBC koolade, I once again state my STRONG disagreements with Obama's socialist agenda.

Instead, I ask you, Did conservatives deserve to win the election?

Regardless of your political view, the American people have decided, but more importantly, so has God. Does it make sense He would put Obama in the highest office in our land? I don't know, I am not Him. However, I do firmly believe that He does have a  plan and this was part of it all along, not some "mistake" that He now has to correct. Oh, also, I must address this issue of people lamenting Obama's election and entertaining thoughts of "moving to (insert country name)."

Give me  break!!!

Those conservatives who spout such incoherent nonsense are NO BETTER than Alex Baldwin or any other liberals who threatened to move to Canada when Bush was elected. Frankly, such people (conservative and liberal) make me much angrier than Obama or Biden ever could. I love my country and I will support her president, though I will disagree with his policies. Obama's economic policies may violate common sense, but they do not contradict the fundamentals of my Christian faith. Thus, we may voice our opposition but in the eternal scope such things fall far short of the importance we assign them here on earth.

Naturally, I expect many people to disagree and explain the ills and evils of socialism and so on. I probably will agree with most the points brought up, but, at the same time remember than Obama as president is not the end of our country and much less the end of the world.

So, before you book that ticket to Ireland or Italy or your private island in the Bahamas...think twice about what it truly means to be an American.

...Recalled to Life...

Since I have about ten minutes before I have to head over to the ESB for my afternoon class, I figured I'd document the last couple days or so...

1) My brother and his fiancee flew in to visit over the weekend, and, actually got engaged over the weekend! So, now the family is in the wedding business it seems...

2) Got to go see a pre-showing of "A Tale of Two Cities" which was really good.

3) Just got back from the school's Fall Retreat, which was a great weekend out of the City.

4) Working on getting an internship at Saturday Night Live, so, still working on the paperwork to finalize the process.

5) Going to Doc's house this weekend for a cookout, which is awesome.

Well, time to head to class....

...Live, from New York City....

It's nearly been 2 weeks since I started living in The Big Apple and they have gone by as quickly as I expected. Classes have just about started into their fun swing with my lineup looking something like this:
  • Principals of Management and Organization
  • College Writing II
  • Introduction to New Testament Literature
  • Introduction to Politics
  • Introduction to the City
It's hard to give a concrete description on each class since it seems like they all overlap in a variety of ways. So far each of the classes have been extremely engaging and the professors have been fantastic.

Of course, along with school one must get a good does of relaxation and fun. So, between midnight games of frisbee at Central Park, tackle football, movie watching parties, and chilling with my roommates and school people in the apartment our time here is pretty busy.

The unfortunate thing is that I do not have a camera, otherwise I could actually document some of this. But, I guess that will have to wait for the time being.

I think that is a wide overview of the past week and a halfish, so, if i get a free moment in the next week or so I'll try to input any other interesting tidbits of life here in The City...

The Final Countdown

Wow, so less than a week till my scenery changes from the rolling hills of North Florida to the concrete and asphalt jungle of my future inhabitance. I still have a good load of packing and organizing to do, as well as some final visits to family and friends before I ship out. Overall, it's been one of the most fun, exciting, and growth-filled summers I think I have ever experienced. So heres to a great summer and one crazy fall. Somehow i don't think things will ever be quite the same again...

::EDIT::

It would seem our departure might be halted by Tropical Storm Fay, but, hopefully my demons of the past will not be exorcised...

Also, I own more stuff that I imagined.

Caution: Work Zone

Since the blog looked so bare, I figured I need to at least put something here for the time being. Basically, I've moving to New York and anything interesting that happens I'd like to put here for the family to read. That's about it. Catch you on the flip side.
